Under the Pear tree

Documentary film that delves into the world of an orchard on the slopes of Fruška Gora, using its ever-changing nature as a metaphor for life cycles, relationships, and growth. Through this narrative, I explored not only the physical changes in the orchard throughout the four seasons but also the emotional changes within my family. In this personal experiment, I attempted to distance myself from the conflict that arose between my father and brother, not expressing my opinion directly, and thus objectively depicting the absurdity of the conflict itself. The root of the problem is also in the film’s title, “Under the Pear Tree” referring to the euphemism “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

The film premiered in Belgrade at the Free Zone Documentary Film Festival and later at DOKUfest in Prizren.
